If i recall i am blogging after a long long time.
Ok lemme give you the update what happened after i got admission at Hult. I almost took the offer, even confirmed after paying $2500. But then i changed my mind after talking to my fellow bloggers. Initially i deferred the admission, but now i want to explore better option before i settle for one.

And why i am restarting this blog? I guess may be this is the best way to share our expericence with other fellow MBA aspirants. And i think given the time business are facing these day, one needs to be wise and informed while taking such a crucial decisions.

So rest assure, i'll keep posting my updates and looking forward to share the latest from your ends.

Got an admit from hult

Its long time when I blogged last time.

As I mentioned I was offered marketing profile and I accepted it. At the same time I got an admit from Hult, Dubai. And I am mentioning it here because I really giving it a serious thought over the same.

I know its not the best of the institute you would like to get in after having such a good profile( if I go by traditional view). But beside my rebellious nature, there are some other good reasons to accept that invite. And most important of all is that they are guarantee-ing my expenses for my education at hult ( Boston and Dubai ). Also i dont expect myself to secure the financial required for my study if i opt for those elite club MBA colleges

I don’t know why I tend to be in situation which is risky (batch at dubai will be first batch of hult), but hey hey who is scared of it !! I did my under-graduation which the same “first-ever” tag. And still today I am in very good position and which I enjoy.

At the end of the day, I believe what matters is you and what you have learned with the association with the institute.
And what else I am sure dubai will prove to be great place to learn for energy business or oil and gas.

Pakistan tangle

Yesterday, Pakistan government issued a video tape and interception as a prove that the Bhutto's died because of "head injury caused by shock-wave generated by blast".
Now how many people will believe on it is debatable although Bush will definitely release a response by saying "Ahaan!! So this was the actual reason..." although whole administration(including Bush) know that its bigger lie than the promise that American aid is being use for "war on terror".
I mean to whom they are trying to cheat? After live reporting by correspondents around the world, after being blogged by locals there, after getting full coverage in all newspapers showing step by step incidents by which the murderer approached and shot bullets, nobody there objected such news and after their closed door meetings with ISI now after two days and after burring her dead body now they say she was not killed by bullets.

Its cristal clear what had happened there, the problem with pakistan government is that they still believe that even now in this " information age" Pakistan is isolated from world and no information can be leaked without there permission and people will believe on what has been officially released.

Ok lets leave it here. I was going through an article and comments afterwards on CiF. it was on India and Pakistan- 60 years after independence. One comments i would like to recall one of my fellow Indian answered on what he thinks about Pakistan and its relations with india. he said that We Indian are so engrossed in partnering with Rising India with its IT boom, KPO, BPO , Global takeover.... etc that rarely they have time to think about Pakistan. Well this is how Ideal world should look forward as we leave behind decade of animosity with whom we have fought three and half war (kargil as half war :-)) and despite Pakistani establishment seeing us as the only adversary who can keep people on their side of border together.

BTW i still have time and concern over Pakistan to express. I believe pakistan is like a kid who has somehow got a loaded pistol. Now how to handle it. :-)
Jokes apart Pakistan has got the worst combination of condition which is disastrous for itself and for the world. BTW the problem for India is that its all happening in its own backyard.

Welcome to CiF

Well those who dont know about CiF (comment is free), this is one of the Jems of Guardian Unlimited.
And the views put there is really diverse although sometimes it tends to go wayward. But one can really derive some substance out of it.

It is really helpful to come out of shell for someone like me who carry some strong point of view about everything linked with me, or about the things for which i have right to carry a point of view.

So we can have chat on CiF sometime.

Marketing job in sight

Now after this Hi, what next
Okay, right now i'm trying to prepare for an interview which is slightly off-track for my technical profile. i have been offered a marketing profile, for which i have to travel to delhi. and i really love the winter chill of delhi and will be goin to delhi after 354 days ( now u know how much i love delhi).
Now the marketing head there is so impatient to get an associate that he suggested me to have a meeting before there is an official announcement for vacancy. ya good for me, why would i say no to it. But for that i have to pay from my own pocket for this interview. One funny thing i would like to share with you. When i was looking for option for this "urgent meeting", i tried to get a train ticket. I noticed that all seats where full after and before 31st Dec. Guess why? nobody would like to celebrate his/her new year in train. :-)
Btw was it not ironical? what could be better start of marketing career than to travel to interview by train on new year.

Although i opted not to travel by train, as luckily got air ticket at nominal price, i hope to get this job as the profile is really inviting and i'm sure it would add another star to my profile.

yah another MBA aspirant....let me start explaining why this re-take
I am few(really?) of those people who had started to look for US-MBA pretty late. so last august i decided to give shot for this "firang-MBA and in hurry appeared for GMAT
i got pathetic 620, but i was confident that my profile is good enough to fetch me an MBA from a good institute. And today i wonder y i thought so with work-ex of just over two years.

Anyway today i received my fourth ding (three without interview and one after interview). Even though i still have one application left, i have decided to move on.

This year i'll prepare for that magic figure of 700 and beyond and then apply for some good colleges. I am aiming for consulting as my aim from a good college.

Now before i leave a heavy sigh. Let me list some of the learning for future aspirant.

# First is what i learned hard. A good GMAT cannot guarantee a seat in top college, true. But a low GMAT score can surely remove you out of contention. And please dont read those low GMAT success stories. They either have a high work-ex to back them or they compromise on type of school.

# Choose your target college aptly. It can be heavy on your pockets

# GMAT prep is actual indicator of your performance. Untill you don't score 700 at GMAT prep dont fix date for GMAT.

# Manhattan SC yes. its very good for basics but....only for basics. The sentence you get on GMAT will be far lengthier and complex.

# Taking notes for RC can be really helpful ( based on feedback from my friend as i still have to try it)

# keep track of my post as only this much i remember, will be feeding on later post
